I watched in utter disbelief as people actually believed that he was going to pick her as his Vice Prezzie…then I just shook my head when others talked about how she as going to be a “lion in the Senate”.

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s dream of overhauling the country’s health-care system as the steward of a new Senate subcommittee has reportedly flatlined.

The New York senator had made health-care reform the centerpiece of her presidential campaign. After bowing out of the race, Clinton pushed fellow Democratic Sen. Ted Kennedy, the chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, to create a special health subcommittee for her to head.

But the Massachusetts senator, who’s battling brain cancer, has shot down that idea - all but dashing any hope Clinton had of pinning her legacy to universal coverage.

Michael Myers, Kennedy’s staff director on the committee, ended any speculation by telling the trade publication Inside Health Policy that Clinton would not chair a subcommittee. Kennedy will instead hold health-care proceedings at the full committee level, Myers said.

“In the end, it’s President Obama who’s going to lead the effort for us,” Myers told Inside Health Policy.

According to The Washington Post, Clinton had sought the subcommittee to grab the health-care policy reins away from Kennedy, a champion of reform.

Clinton senior adviser Philippe Reines told The Post the senator would assist however she could.

Clinton told Kennedy and Majority Leader Harry Reid “that she stands ready to help President-elect Obama in any and every way she can to enact comprehensive health-care reform, which she has sought for nearly two decades,” Reines said.

Clinton discussed her future endeavors in a Time magazine interview this week, quashing speculation she wanted a Cabinet-level job in the Obama administration or a seat on the Supreme Court.

“I’m interested in standing on the South Lawn of the White House and seeing President Obama signing into law quality, affordable health care for everybody, and voting in a big majority for clean, renewable energy and smarter economic policies,” Clinton told Time.

Wow…so please, stop lying to me about how Obama and the rest of those knuckleheads “care” about this country. Obviously they don’t care enough about it, to utilize a person who has dedicated the better part of her career to making sure that health care is available to all. Instead they’re jocking for position to make sure that Hillary doesn’t take any of the spotlight off of Obama who Ted in his delusional brain damaged state is the reincarnation of his brother. At the root of all this, I tend to think that’s why Ted has so much animosity towards the Clinton brand. They took the focus off his family name because the Clintons ACTUALLY helped people.

I am deeply disturbed by recent news reports of the stoning death of a 13-year-old Somali girl. The circumstances leading up to this death are particularly shocking. After being brutally raped by 3 men while traveling to visit her grandmother, the girl turned to local authorities for assistance. Instead of receiving protection, she was accused of adultery and publicly executed in a stadium full of bystanders. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has already condemned this death, and I would urge you to ensure that all organizations within the UN system strengthen their efforts to protect girls and women in conflict situations.

The situation in Somalia is perilous. The nation is in the midst of a humanitarian crisis, with almost half of the population in need of food assistance. Amnesty International reports that aid and human rights workers are at risk for killings and abduction, limiting their ability to provide aid to the millions in need. Girls and women are at increased risk of sexual assault and violence.

However, we cannot let worsening conditions further jeopardize children, particularly those who seek protection from authorities after they themselves have been attacked. The tragic death of this girl cannot be left unchallenged; those that perpetrated such a crime must know that the world has condemned their actions. I hope that the United Nations will work with countries around the world to protect the rights of girls and women and ensure their safety in conflict situations.

Even after being called a “proto-racist” by the jackals we call, “the media” she is still quietly fighting her fight for everyone. What a shame that I still hear the same talking point lies out of people’s mouths. And they’re not even ashamed about it. What is also interesting is that you won’t hear this type of speech from Obama. What will be interesting is, if Michelle Obama will rip off Hillary’s humantarian stances and co-opt them for her own when she is installed as First Lady, you know like her husband rips off Hillary’s ideas on how to fix this country.

The Obama Information Minister is kind of like the Iraqi Information Minister, except he’s more creepy, less funny and more pathetic.

As usual the boneheads are pointing fingers and not realizing that this economic crisis was a financial “perfect storm” that crashed upon the United States.

As usual FACTCHECK.ORG gives you the fact sans the fiction. They’re a good resource, (for now until someone gets it in their head to corrupt them as well)…and I like their fairness. If you click the link, they give you the cliff notes version of the crisis, and all the mitigating factors that lead to our troubles.

The Real Deal

So who is to blame? There’s plenty of blame to go around, and it doesn’t fasten only on one party or even mainly on what Washington did or didn’t do. As The Economist magazine noted recently, the problem is one of “layered irresponsibility … with hard-working homeowners and billionaire villains each playing a role.” Here’s a partial list of those alleged to be at fault:

* The Federal Reserve, which slashed interest rates after the dot-com bubble burst, making credit cheap.

* Home buyers, who took advantage of easy credit to bid up the prices of homes excessively.

* Congress, which continues to support a mortgage tax deduction that gives consumers a tax incentive to buy more expensive houses.

* Real estate agents, most of whom work for the sellers rather than the buyers and who earned higher commissions from selling more expensive homes.

* The Clinton administration, which pushed for less stringent credit and downpayment requirements for working- and middle-class families.

* Mortgage brokers, who offered less-credit-worthy home buyers subprime, adjustable rate loans with low initial payments, but exploding interest rates.

* Former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan, who in 2004, near the peak of the housing bubble, encouraged Americans to take out adjustable rate mortgages.

* Wall Street firms, who paid too little attention to the quality of the risky loans that they bundled into Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS), and issued bonds using those securities as collateral.

* The Bush administration, which failed to provide needed government oversight of the increasingly dicey mortgage-backed securities market.

* An obscure accounting rule called mark-to-market, which can have the paradoxical result of making assets be worth less on paper than they are in reality during times of panic.

* Collective delusion, or a belief on the part of all parties that home prices would keep rising forever, no matter how high or how fast they had already gone up.

The U.S. economy is enormously complicated. Screwing it up takes a great deal of cooperation. Claiming that a single piece of legislation was responsible for (or could have averted) the crisis is just political grandstanding. We have no advice to offer on how best to solve the financial crisis. But these sorts of partisan caricatures can only make the task more difficult.

And honestly that’s all they could give was an outline because they have no actual plan of attack for the mounting problems this country is facing.

I hate to say it, but if Hillary were on that stage, she would’ve made every single question about the economy.

These numbskulls were all to happy to stick with the script because they DON’T have any quick solutions for what to do NOW about the problems we’re having NOW.

There is never any specificity in anything these fools say, it’s always, “we have to have more regulation.”

Okay WHAT KIND of regulation…what would be the body who would oversee it?

We have to do Iraq/Afghanistan the “right way” um huh? WTF does that mean?

Am I taking fucking crazy pills here? Am I the only one that sees that neither one of those bozos says anything substantive?

Like the one pictured here from: “Code Pink” are psychos. I’m sorry, but I just can not get with a movement that is so disrespectful as to try and jump on stage and disrupt a Vice Presidential nominee’s speech at their convention.

I didn’t hear about Republican fanatics doing that at the Democratic convention. Hell, they wouldn’t even let Hillary supporters dissent.

I don’t like Republicans, but more and more I’m starting to loathe “Democrats”.

BTW, lest you think that’s just one random crazy chick in a stupid T-shirt…her name is Jodie Evans who has raised over $100,000 for Obama’s campaign.
